Overview
Sudoku Hint is an advertisement-free app. It does not require a user account and is not designed to collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location or advertising identifier.
Camera and puzzle photos
Camera access is used to photograph Sudoku puzzles. When you request analysis of a selected photo, the photo is sent over HTTPS to the Sudoku Hint backend hosted on Render and then to OpenAI’s API so the Sudoku grid and entries can be read. Later hints for the same analysed photo are calculated on the device and do not require the photo to be sent again.
Hints and purchases
An anonymous wallet token is stored securely on the device. It is used to associate the app with its hint balance. RevenueCat keeps the hint balance and supports Apple’s in-app purchase process. RevenueCat does not receive the Sudoku photo. Apple processes the payment transaction; the developer does not receive your full payment-card details.
Storage and sharing
Sudoku Hint does not intentionally store puzzle photos on its backend. Puzzle photos are shared only with Render and OpenAI as needed to provide photo analysis. Sudoku Hint does not sell data, use it for advertising, or include cross-app tracking.
Operational information
The backend and service providers may process limited technical information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service, such as request timestamps, anonymous identifiers, error information and basic server logs.
Service providers
Sudoku Hint currently uses Render for backend hosting, OpenAI for AI-based photo analysis, RevenueCat for hint-balance and purchase support, and Apple for app distribution and in-app purchases. These providers process information as necessary to provide their respective services.
Your choices
You control whether a Sudoku photo is taken and submitted for analysis. Camera access can be removed at any time in iOS Settings. You may contact the developer with privacy questions or requests concerning information associated with the app.
Deleting your data
Sudoku Hint does not require a user account. If you want to request deletion of data that may be associated with the app’s anonymous identifier, email info.sudokuhint@gmail.com with the subject “Data deletion request”. Please do not include payment-card information or other sensitive information. The developer will use the information you provide only to identify and process the deletion request where technically possible and subject to any legal or transaction-record retention requirements that may apply.
Changes
This privacy policy may be updated if the app or its service providers change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated date.
